MAC is not the shit. Just because you work for MAC doesn't mean you're the shit. You don't even have to be a licensed cosmetologist to work for MAC.
There are no rules in make up. Sure, there are some suggestions and some common sense things to do but there are no rules. If there are rules, I want someone to show me because I've been missing out on them for the past 11 years.
Also, MAC sells their brushes by numbers. If a brush starts with a 1, then it's a face brush. If it starts with a 2, then it's an eye brush and then if it starts with a 3, it's a lip brush. Just because they have their brushes sorted out by numbers with meanings doesn't mean you can't use one brush for something else. A lot of people use their 224 brush for concealer or contouring their nose. I happen to use the 227 brush to apply my highlight on my cheek bone. A 227 brush is a eye brush but I'm using it on my face. Who the fuck cares? Who the fuck cares if I use a blending brush to apply my browbone highlight either. Everyone does their make up different and applies it differently. Everyone has their own process and there is no rule to do it. Sure, there are some techniques that help but it doesn't mean you can't do something the way you want to.
I'm considering boycotting MAC because they hire stupid assholes who don't even know how to put on make up themselves and want to be critical over how and what someone uses something for.
I mean, it's not only with brushes though. The Cream Color Bases MAC sells...you could use those as a base, highlight, or blush. How can someone tell you, "Oh no, you can only use that for this and you should use this for that!" How can someone do that?
So if you work for MAC, you should practice costumer service and less diva-action because it's really getting played out.
